{Stand Up for Clean Water}

I’m a firm believer that when we know better, we do better, and if you think about it this pertains to pretty well everything. From the larger than life decisions we make to the simple little things we do throughout the day without even thinking about it – like the water we drink.

I drink a lot of water throughout the day. I’m a coffee by morning, wine by night and water all day long kind of girl, and admittedly, I normally don’t give a thought to how lucky we are to have drinkable water that’s free of harmful bacteria and waste. Of course there are undesirable components to our drinking water, like chlorine and sediment, but that’s nothing compared to other parts of the world and we have access to Brita filters which help to eliminate those things.

Davin and I have had the same Brita water jug for a LONG time…as in over a decade (Which I just realized and think is kind of crazy…what a good investment that was!).  I refill it on average between 5 and 7 times a day because I’m constantly refilling my 700ml water bottle. Sometimes I’m too lazy or in a hurry and can’t wait for it to filter through so I’ll skip it and fill it my bottle straight from the tap, but the taste is never the same and if I have to fill it while I’m away from home I always notice a difference.

Brita just released a new water bottle with a built-in filtration system which solves my problem, but more importantly, an even bigger problem for an entire community in Kenya, too.  I think the majority of us always feel inclined to help others when we know they are in need, especially when it’s of the basic necessities of life. But we all aren’t always able to offer physical or monetary help and sometimes you are but never hear or see where that money went or who it helped.  This is such a simple way that we can help, and you know that people are benefiting from your small contribution.

For every purchase of one of Brita’s limited edition ME to WE Statement Water Bottle, Brita’s Stand Up for Clean Water campaign is able to support a borehole in Irkaat, Kenya that provides 1,800 people with access to clean, safe water. That’s pretty incredible and so simple for us to help make possible. So if you use and love Brita products, or want to make a difference for someone lacking what we take for granted every single day, make sure your next Brita purchase is a specially marked ME to WE product! Then use your unique Track Your Impact code to go online and see the continued impact you’ve made.

(Brita products are sold at Wal-Mart, Real Canadian Superstore, Real Atlantic Superstore & Zehrs locations. In addition to helping make this campaign possible, don’t forget the other obvious benefit to using re-usable water bottles and jugs which is eliminating hundreds of thousands of pounds of plastic waste from our own local landfills.)

This post was sponsored by Brita, however please know that this is a campaign I stand behind as I truly admire the difference it is making! As always, I only share with you the products and services that I support and believe in. I will be showing my support by making my own purchase of a ME to WE product and continue to follow the impact Brita is making. <3
