Davin had a grad shoot today with a lovely local family and […]

{I *BEEP*ing Love my Little Lawn Nazi}

I was going to save this post for at least a month from now, but I have a feeling it would be a novel by then… If you know my darling husband you know that year after year he OBSESSES over our lawn.  It has to be the lushest, greenest, weed-free grass with the straightest […]

The Lawn Nazi Himself - What! That explains why you were chuckling to yourself every time I made lawn comments.

Ps…I did NOT fertilize twice already! Everyone knows that that would be too much for a lawn & kill it.

The Spawn of Shell - Haha checking for the best time to cut the grass by creeping on the competition? His best tip “cut it long and cut it often”. May the best man win!

{DIY: Picture Frame Bulletin Board}

Not too long ago I picked up a decent sized picture frame from Ikea that I had plans of hanging in my kitchen and using as a dry-erase board to write our meal plans & grocery list on.  I had it up for a few months but it just didn’t turn out how I had […]

{Spicy Diet Soup Recipe: Just in Time for Summer!}

This recipe has been floating around our family for a few years now but I’m fairly certain that each of us makes it slightly different. Although we call it the “Spicy Diet Soup” in our house, it’s basically a cabbage soup that’s rich in vitamins, minerals and fiber.  I’ve never made this soup with the […]

2nd Cousin Lisa - That looks delicious! I’m tempted to try it using pre-cut cole slaw mix to cut down on the prep.
Your blog looks nice. I can’t wait to read on!

Lisa, I’m sure cole slaw will work just as well. If you try it, let me know how it is!

Edie - This is one of my favourite soups to make when I’m feeling it’s time to purify the body. I’ve tried to get hubby to join me with the plan but 7 days are apparently too long to go without his daily glass of red wine. AND I ensure that I don’t use terms such as ‘diet’, ‘detox’, or ‘cleansing’ to describe the soup as he fears he will be put on some kind of diet!
