About Us

Hi & thanks for stopping by!

I’m Lisa Gegolick — pronounced je-gol-ick     …not je-garlic or – GEG-o-lick  😉

I married my high school sweet heart and settled down in a quaint little town near Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where we started our little family. We have a maltese pup named Oscar, a little human named Lyric and another little human on the way!!

I come from a very creative and hands-on family of all girls that knew if you wanted it done right, you best do it your-dang-self! We painted ourselves, built things ourselves, fixed things around the house ourselves, and taught ourselves and each other new things along the way every day. All of those projects that I had a hand in growing up, even though I was itty bitty at the time, have carried on into my everyday life as an adult and I constantly find myself putting my creativity to good use.

My love for DIY has gone into overdrive since becoming a home-owner; I absolutely love being able to change a wall color or completely change a space whenever I want – and trust me, I do it often! Not only do I take major pride in the things I create or the changes I make to our home, I think that they’re worth sharing if there’s a chance that others will find it helpful, fun and inspirational.

My husband, Davin, and I share a huge passion for photography and run our business Davin G Photography out of our home. I think it’s such a blessing to be able to do what we love and work so well together. Check us out!!

Above all that my favorite hobby in this life is being a mom. So more than anything else you’ll find that I write mostly about baby-isms, milestones my kids reach and anything and everything else that revolves around motherhood, including baby puke and sleep regressions. So if you’re into that sorta thing, stick around.

This October our family of four will become five and we couldn’t be more excited!! Other than that, we love our families, our friends, our dog and each other and our favorite place to be is anywhere those people (or dog) may be.

Edie - I’m Davin’s mom and so pleased to be mom-in-law to crafty, creative Lisa. This girl is an inspiration to many and she never fails to amaze me with her many skills and talents. One project is barely complete before another is on the way! Just yesterday, we witnessed a transformation in their back yard that continues to not only add to the structure and beauty of their surroundings but, most importantly, build their own relationship with trust and harmony. (After 33 years of marriage, I know the intricacies involved when doing a major reno or project with ones spouse!) Lisa, you work hard to make your dreams come true and I am proud to see you accomplish your goals. My heart has so often been touched as I observed the many ways you love and care for my son. You will succeed in all your endeavors because you have Davin and God on your side. Much love to you.

Lisa G. - Edie, “one project is barely complete before another is on the way” – that will be my demise one day! We’re so guilty of that, but I’m not sure that’ll ever change…
